Heteroscodra maculata (Togo Starburst Baboon Tarantula)

I like to call these "H-macs." My experience of these is similar to the Indian Ornamental, with a smoothed out look and different patterning. Another potent venom old world, they should be respected. That said, I LOVE feeding these.

Ours can't seem to decide if it's confident or spooked. Seems to not wander too far from it's secure spot, but also almost always out on display.

We haven't found a care guide from our usual trusted sources for this species. In our experience, husbandry is very similar to Poecilotheria regalis: a vertical enclosure with cork bark, good ventilation, a water dish, and plenty of space to build web retreats.
