Spider People in Training

Spider People in Training is a starting point for people who want to learn basic spider care before taking the leap as a new keeper, as well as for those already in the hobby who want a more confident, well-rounded foundation.

What It Covers

• setting up a simple, appropriate enclosure
• understanding the main body parts and how they relate to care
• safe feeding and routine maintenance
• recognizing normal behavior vs. warning signs
• building consistent care habits
• understanding ethical keeping, including responsible sourcing (captive bred vs. wild caught) and long-term care commitments

Reduce preventable mistakes and develop a clear, practical baseline that everything else in the hobby builds on.

Upon completion, participants will be awarded an official Spider People Certificate recognizing them as competent keepers vouched by Spider People.

The material is being developed collaboratively by experienced members of the spider-keeping community, including contributors with backgrounds in education, public speaking, and curriculum design.
