Eresus walckenaeri (Greek Velvet Spider)

If Jim Henson made a spider puppet, it would probably look something like a velvet spider. Those rounded features, oversized "tuffet" abdomens, and button eyes make this species adorable. That said, they're actually kind of spicy. Don't stick your fingers in there! These are easy to keep, slow growing, and don't require a lot of space.
